Internet Stability Test

Test your internet connection stability online. Measure latency, jitter, packet loss, ping spikes and connection dropouts over time with a free browser-based stability test.

Ping Test

Measures instant round-trip latency over a short burst of probes to check raw response time.

Packet Loss Test

Focuses specifically on packet delivery ratios and dropped probe percentages.

Internet Stability Test

Combines latency, jitter, loss, spikes, and consistency over continuous time to rate overall connection health.

01

Understanding Connection Stability

Stability evaluates connection consistency over time using Latency, Jitter $J$, Probe Loss $\%$, and Ping Spike Frequency.

02

Algorithmic Spike Detection

Probes exceeding baseline median latency by Δ L ≥ max(35ms, 0.75 × Median) are flagged as ping spikes.

03

Stability Scoring Formula

Score S = 100 - (Loss% × 2.5) - (Jitter × 1.2) - (Spikes × 4) - (σ_L × 0.15) bounded between 0 and 100.

04

Isolating Local vs ISP Problems

Run comparative tests (Wi-Fi vs Ethernet) to pinpoint whether instability originates from local wireless congestion or external ISP routing.

Questions, answered

Quick answers about how this tool works.

An internet stability test measures your connection performance continuously over time (15 seconds to 10 minutes) to track latency, jitter, packet loss, ping spikes, and dropouts rather than taking a single snapshot.

Select a test duration (e.g., 30s or 60s) and click "Start Stability Test". The tool sends continuous network probes, plotting a live latency timeline and calculating a Connection Stability Score from 0 to 100.

A score of 90–100 represents an Excellent connection, 75–89 is Stable for gaming and calls, 60–74 is Mostly Stable, while scores under 60 indicate noticeable instability, jitter, or packet drops.

Speed tests only measure bandwidth (Mbps). Real-time applications like online games, Zoom calls, and VoIP require consistent latency, zero packet loss, and low jitter. High bandwidth cannot prevent ping spikes or dropped packets.
