Essential manual checks for used laptops/PCs

What Is a Full Device Check?

A Full Device Check is a unified online diagnostic hub that evaluates all major media, input, display, and network hardware connected to your desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Instead of opening separate low-level tests, Full Device Check orchestrates tests into a single guided workflow.

How to Test a Computer Online

Modern web browsers support standard W3C Web APIs such as WebRTC, Web Audio API, Canvas, Pointer Events, Gamepad API, and WebUSB. Follow these simple steps to run a full diagnostic:

  1. Select a preset tailored to your needs (e.g., Quick Check, Before Video Call, Used Laptop Check).
  2. Click Start Full Device Check to initiate the step-by-step diagnostic workflow.
  3. Grant browser permissions for Camera and Microphone when prompted at their respective steps.
  4. Review your diagnostic report, save results locally, or export your summary as JSON or TXT.

How to Test a Laptop Before Buying It

When inspecting a used or pre-owned laptop before purchasing, open EasyToolio Full Device Check directly in the seller's browser. Run the Used Laptop Check preset to test screen uniformity, webcam focus, microphone pickup, stereo speakers, trackpad multi-gesture response, and Wi-Fi latency. Combine automated browser checks with our manual physical inspection checklist to check hinges, ports, and charger health.

How to Check PC Hardware Without Installing Software

Installing third-party executable software or diagnostic drivers can introduce security risks or malware. Browser-based testing requires zero installation, runs isolated inside browser sandbox memory, and cleans up all temporary streams immediately after execution.

What Can a Browser Test?

  • Webcam video resolution & permissions
  • Microphone input gain & background noise floor
  • Speakers & headphones stereo channel balance
  • Keyboard keypress registration & ghosting
  • Mouse movement velocity & button clicks
  • Touchscreen multi-touch points & stylus pressure
  • Display resolution, pixel ratio & refresh rate
  • Network latency (ping), jitter & packet loss

What Can't a Browser Test?

  • Motherboard voltage regulators & circuit traces
  • Physical RAM memory error correction (ECC)
  • GPU VRAM stress benchmarks
  • Hard drive S.M.A.R.T. internal health sectors
  • Deep battery cell chemical degradation

How to Test Your Computer Before a Video Call or Online Interview

Prevent embarrassing technical glitches during job interviews or client meetings. Select the Before a Video Call preset to test your camera video output, microphone voice clarity, headphone audio, and internet ping stability in less than 60 seconds.

How to Test Your PC Before Gaming

Select the Before Gaming preset to verify mouse polling responsiveness, keyboard key ghosting, display refresh rate (60Hz, 120Hz, 144Hz, 240Hz), and connection latency to ensure competitive performance.

Full Device Check & Computer Health Guide

01

Browser-Based Hardware Orchestration

Full Device Check unifies individual diagnostic utilities into a single guided workflow without duplicating lower-level measurement engines.

02

Sequential Permission Management

Permissions for hardware APIs like WebRTC camera and Web Audio microphone are requested strictly on-demand as you reach each step.

03

Status-Based Diagnostic Reporting

Devices are evaluated into clear categories: Passed, Attention Needed, Skipped, and Unsupported, avoiding misleading pseudo-health percentages.

04

Used Laptop Inspection Workflows

Combines automated browser diagnostics with manual physical inspection steps (hinges, screen backlight bleed, port wear, charger status).

05

Pre-Call & Pre-Gaming Readiness

Presets instantly isolate the exact hardware tests required before an important video interview or competitive gaming session.

06

Local Privacy & Security

All Web Audio, MediaDevices, and Pointer events run entirely in memory and are discarded immediately upon test completion.

07

Cross-Tool Diagnostic Drill-Down

Every completed card includes direct links to dedicated specialized tools for deeper diagnostic testing when attention is needed.

08

Sanitized Report Exporting

Export comprehensive JSON and TXT diagnostic summaries stripped of sensitive IP addresses, MAC addresses, or raw input data.

Quick answers about how this tool works.

Click "Start Full Device Check" or select a preset such as "Before a Video Call" or "Quick Check". EasyToolio will guide you step-by-step through testing your browser, camera, microphone, audio output, keyboard, mouse, display, and network.

Launch the Full Device Check to orchestrate checks for all connected media and input devices. The engine detects available browser APIs and prompts you for permissions only when reaching each specific device step.

Use the "Used Laptop Check" preset. It runs a full diagnostic of the screen, keyboard, touchpad, webcam, microphone, speakers, Wi-Fi, and USB ports, and provides a physical inspection checklist for hinges, charger, battery, and body condition.

Open Full Device Check on the target laptop and select the "Used Laptop Check" preset. Follow the guided sequence to confirm that all keys register, speaker channels output clearly, camera produces clear video, and network latency is stable.

During the Camera step, click "Allow Camera" when prompted by your browser. Full Device Check tests video stream initialization, resolution, frame responsiveness, and permissions without uploading any video feed.

During the Microphone step, speak into your mic to verify live volume levels, RMS audio gain, and background noise floor. EasyToolio measures audio activity locally using Web Audio API.

The Input phase lets you press keys to test rollover and ghosting, and move or click your mouse to verify button responsiveness, scroll wheel direction, and movement tracking.

The Display phase checks your screen resolution, color depth, browser scaling, refresh rate, and provides visual test patterns to check for dead pixels and screen uniformity.

The Network step measures latency (ping), packet loss, and ping jitter using high-precision HTTP timing probes to ensure your connection is ready for video calls or gaming.

Web browsers can test connected media devices (cameras, microphones, speakers), input devices (keyboard, mouse, gamepad, touch, drawing tablet), display parameters, and network quality. Deep hardware diagnostics (like motherboard circuits, RAM chips, GPU vRAM, or SMART drive health) require native OS low-level tools.

No. All media streams, audio samples, keystrokes, and mouse paths remain 100% client-side inside your browser memory. EasyToolio never records, saves, or transmits private device data to remote servers.

Yes. Once your test sequence completes, you can save the diagnostic report locally in your browser storage, export it as a JSON or TXT file, or copy a privacy-safe text summary to share.
